Changing plans & the billing portal
Changing plans
Admins change plans from Settings — the plan cards show current pricing and what each tier includes. Switching between paid tiers swaps the subscription price with proration (you’re credited for unused time at the old rate). Moving to pay-as-you-go cancels the subscription; your per-case billing takes over.
Upgrades take effect immediately — including the feature unlocks (e.g., ADR drafting on Professional).
Promo and partner codes
An org admin can enter a promo code under Settings → Billing → Promo code (or on the plan step during onboarding). Codes come from AffirmDME or from a partner such as your billing company. What happens next depends on your plan:
- Subscription plans: the discount attaches to your subscription immediately and shows on the next invoice.
- Pay-as-you-go: there is no subscription, so the discount is applied to each monthly invoice for as long as the code runs — once, for a set number of months, or indefinitely, as the code specifies.
Choosing a paid plan later carries the code into checkout. One code at a time; applying another replaces it, and Remove ends it. Members can see the active code but only admins can change it.
The billing portal
Manage billing opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can:
- Update the card on file
- Download invoices and see payment history
- Review subscription details
Failed payments
If a renewal charge fails, Stripe retries automatically over several days and your org shows past-due status in the app. Update the card in the portal and the next retry clears it; access isn’t cut off abruptly.
Location count and price
Per-location plans bill by location count — adding a location in Locations adjusts the subscription quantity (prorated); removing one adjusts down at the next cycle.
