What is AffirmDME?
AffirmDME is a prior-authorization workspace for Medicare DME suppliers. You create a case for each prior auth (or documentation-critical claim), upload the documentation you already collect, and AffirmDME’s AI reads it, checks it against the actual Medicare requirements for the ordered equipment, and tells you exactly what’s missing — with the regulatory citation — before you submit.
The shape of a case
- Create the case — patient, prescriber, equipment (HCPCS), and location. AffirmDME derives the DME MAC and jurisdiction routing.
- Upload documents — the order, chart notes, test results. Each is classified and extracted automatically.
- Review readiness — the checklist scores every requirement Met / Missing / Needs review, and the case gets a readiness score with an overall RED / YELLOW / GREEN status.
- Close the gaps — upload what’s missing, fax the prescriber for records, or send the order for e-signature, all from the case.
- Submit — download the assembled packet, submit to your MAC portal, and mark the case submitted with its UTN.
- Record the decision — affirmed or non-affirmed, feeding your affirmation-rate dashboard.
If a MAC later sends an Additional Documentation Request (ADR), you record it on the case and AffirmDME drafts the response.
What AffirmDME is not
It doesn’t submit to MAC portals for you (you stay in control of the actual submission), and it never auto-decides anything clinical — every requirement it flags carries the citation so your team can verify.
